Hi, I’m Nico!

I’m a non-denominational minister who is all about good vibes, big hearts, and fond memories. My emphasis as a professional officiant is on celebrating your unique love story in a way that evokes tears of joy and bellies full of laughter. I believe that every couple is deserving of love and that every faith is worthy of respect, and that’s why I want your wedding day to be your favorite day!

So, why RomCom Weddings? I’m an award winning film director and screenwriter with a career focus in romantic comedies (yes, you can google me). I love romantic comedies because - of all film genres - romcoms inspire us to be our most honest and unapologetic selves. They’re aspirational and full of hope. Simply put, they make people happy, and we all need a little help remembering to prioritize joy. That and I‘m a hopeless romantic!

I became a professional celebrant after officiating a wedding for friends and feeling inspired to write a romcom about professional officiants. Those experiences, combined with my passion for weddings, love stories, and creating meaningful memories, galvanized me to become a pro myself. I truly enjoy getting to know people, hearing stories of how they fell in love, and then getting to apply my skills as a screenwriter to share your story through a fun, heartwarming, and buzzed-about ceremony.

I’m originally from Mystic, Connecticut and have lived in California for nearly 15 years now. I’m the proud father of a funny and gregarious baby boy, a foodie who isn’t ashamed of how many baking shows I watch, and an ardent feminist. I enjoy board games and cutting it up on the dance floor with my wife. She and I are both passionate advocates for social & racial justice causes and volunteer with inspiring coalition partners here in Los Angeles.

When we were planning our wedding (at Stone Acres Farm in Stonington, CT), we treated the marriage ceremony as an afterthought, prioritizing details about the party. When we finally remembered that the reason for having a party in the first place was because of that little part where we actually get married, we leaned into the ceremony and wrote the service together. Our ceremony, without question, became the highlight of our wedding day and the thing that our loved ones remember most. I want you to have the same extraordinary experience. But with your loved ones. Not mine. That would be weird.

So that’s my spiel. I love working with awesome couples who want to prioritize the wedding ceremony and who recognize that it is the moment you actually get married. It’s not something to gloss over, it’s something to make glossy! So whether you’re throwing the wedding of the century with hundreds of guests, renewing your vows with an intimate circle of confidants, or just want to marry your best friend in a quiet elopement, I will help ensure that your special moment is beautiful, easy, and unforgettable for you and your partner. Because this is your love story, and I’d be honored to help you tell it.

Oh, and if you’re wondering what my favorite romcoms are… I’m a sucker for Nora Ephron and Richard Curtis. Especially any of their movies with wedding scenes. If that detail comes as a surprise to you then you might be on the wrong website.
